Benefit - Dandelion Wishes

11:46:00

This past week has been very manic for me as I just turned 21 which meant I received lots of lovely gifts from friends and family - one of them being the Benefit Dandelion Wishes box set. I'll actually let you into a little secret, this gift was to me from me however I did still receive lots of other lovely things.

First things first, this box is so cute. It comes packaged in a smooth, glossy, green card box and then inside is an even cuter box. The box inside seems very high quality and durable, I love the choice of colours used and this box is sending me loads of spring/summer vibes.

Inside the box there are 6 items, I can't remember the exact price of the box but I think it was around £25-£30 so for Benefit that's pretty reasonable - even if the products are miniature! The box also comes equipped with a little tips and tricks book which I always find really handy as I'm no expert when it comes to applying make-up.

Let's start with the dandelion blush, it's very small and compact which is good for travelling and also comes with the perfect size applicator. Sometimes I find blusher brushes are too big and I end up applying blusher in all the wrong places but this one is perfect. The shade is a sort of peachy colour which is ideal for spring, I tend to side with caution when it comes to blusher as I have very rosey cheeks and can end up looking like a clown if it's not applied properly. That being said I do like quite this one, it's easy to apply and is a subtle but sweet tone.

Next up is the dandelion lip gloss, I'll be quick with this. I don't get on with lip glosses, my hair always gets stuck to it and I just don't like the glossy look so instantly I gave this away to a family member.

We all know Benefits Roller Lash is number 2 in the Mascara market up before Benefits They're real mascara, so they're obviously doing something right. I really like this mascara and I definitely felt like I had falsies on but without the added annoyance of the glue and bits poking in your eyes. I paired this with Benefits They're Real Lash Primer and it worked wonders, I did my make-up around 630pm and it was still going strong by 3am.

Next is my absolute favourite product and one of the main reasons for the purchase of this box, and its the High Beam. I haven't jumped on the highlighter band wagon until now, this is so amazing. It comes in a nail varnish like bottle and is so easy to apply - something I always look for in beauty products is easy application. This is a cream based product so it's easy to blend, it doesn't dry to a sticky substance and it definitely doesn't make your face look oily.

Last is the Posie Balm, I haven't actually used this yet but I will say one thing, the lid was an absolute nightmare to get off. It was really stiff and I still don't know whether you're supposed to pull or twist it off.

Overall I'm quite please with this box, I'd much prefer to buy a box with several smaller products so I can try them before deciding whether to buy the full size products, as we all know Benefit can be a little pricey. I will definitely be buying the full size versions of High Beam and Roller Lash, and although I enjoy the blush I don't think I'll get through it quick enough to buy the full version.

Thanks for reading

  3. This is such a lovely set, such a nice consistent theme to them all. High Beam was the first highlighter I ever bought, before highlighters were popular like they are now. I've always loved it and have repurchased a few times.

I do want to try Shy Beam though.

  4. Happy belated birthday! What a cute present to yourself :) It looks like it came with a lot of products for the price! I've seen their cream highlighter many times and just assumed it would be sticky. Glad to hear it isn't :)

  11. These products look amazing! I totally agree that it's so much better to have lots of miniatures, since I don't think many of us end up finishing full-sized products anyway

  14. I feel like this is a great way to try a lot of products for a smaller cost! High Beam is my favorite liquid highlighter for sure, I love it for the springtime. I recently got the Dandelion blush and I agree with you on it--I'll use it but I probably won't repurchase it x

  15. First off, a happy belated birthday to you! 21 is a pretty significant age, so cheers!

The High Beam is something I've been wanting to try for the longest time, and I feel where you're coming from with the lipgloss -- glosses and me don't go well hand in hand.
